Asking for a fiscal review for spending tax dollars on a service people aren’t missing (debatable, admittedly) and asking for the CBC to provide a plan on how to recover from the strike.
The Tories are masters when it comes to lying. To them, it’s not about reviewing the CBC’s finances, but about shutting it down altogether. It’s the Liberals and NDP who want a financial review, but the Tories want a complete shutdown (which is, of course, the exact opposite of the lie found in their policy declaration).
Gee, and they wonder why Canadians (except for the dimwits in this country) do not trust them.
“When the Commons heritage committee launched a review of the CBC’s mandate three years ago, the study generated similar criticisms of the CBC’s English television network from some members. Former committee member and Liberal MP Roger Gallaway introduced unsuccessful motions in the past to cut the English network’s government funding.”
That’s from the article your original post quotes.
Seems the Liberals are little more aggressive with their push to shut down the CBC then the Conservatives are.
Nice try Robbie… but as usual, your (and the Globe and Mail’s) splitting hairs and then spinning the threads into weave for baskets of BS is as transparent as ever.
Bev Oda is questioning the funding for CBC television… let me repeat that… CBC television and whether it is meriting the cost from Canadian tax-payers. Now, I know that with the blanket NDP solution to everything being, “Just keep throwing money at it, it’ll work eventually”, it’s a totally foreign concept to NDP’ers to make sure tax dollars aren’t a complete waste. But seeing as there are people in this country who actually do care about whether the tax dollars they allow to be taken from them are used for a worthwhile purpose, you might want to at least acknowledge that Oda’s position is admirable and fully justified.
Perhaps you would overreact to the idea of somebody doing a value assessment of the television division… let me repeat again… television division of the CBC. But CBC has other media that work far better than the television branch is… so perhaps if the redundancy factor were reduced it wouldn’t be such a bad thing. And since it is only the television division that Oda is calling for an assessment of, your claim that the Conservatives are not telling the truth is only an indication that you are not telling the truth.
Seriously, are you a masochist Rube? You know I’ve got pictures of your precious Bilbo, I told you what I was going to do with them if you got out of line, and still you persist in being uppity with The Most Dominant Politcal Force In Our Great Nation, The Conservative Party Of Canada? Okaaaaayy…

The nerve.

I really don’t know how you people can look at yourselves in the mirror each morning.
Do you even believe half of the stuff you write?

Hell no. Rubert here is just posting stuff for attention. A form of jerking off in public.

It is fun sometimes to respond - helps get your creative juices flowing.
The best quote in the article is that an NDP MP thinks the CBC “is wasting taxpayer’s dollars”.
That would be the best post ever. EVER.
Where the hell is Big Momma?
