   To answer the question you posed in your post, beating them up is only a valid option if it would shut them up, and I doubt that would happen. What I would most like to see is that pair, and all their ilk, stripped of their considerable assets and imprisoned for life at hard labour. Won’t happen, of course, without some change in the law, or perhaps the hugest class action suit in history brought by all those who suffered from the Administration they enabled.

   To answer the question you posed to Sooey, emphatically yes. But some down south are getting it, judging by the rare but recently more frequent posts in comment threads: (paraphrasing) “I’m their worst nightmare, a leftie with a sharpshooter’s rating.”

   Now an observation: the thing that puzzles me most about the right-wing eliminationists and their fellow-travellers is that they have worked so hard to make eliminationism mainstream again. I think it will backfire on them, and the likes of Dinesh D’souza, Ann Coulter, the KSFO radio crowd and Mark Steyn (to pick a few random turds out of the pit), may well find, to their astonishment, a lamppost or guillotine in their futures. Or perhaps sanity will prevail and their fates will be as I proposed above.

   I hope sanity prevails, not for their sakes, they don’t rate it, but for everyone else’s.
