USING CHILDREN AS PROPS

I only have one thing to say in response to this.

But back to our friend McLelland. In my response to McLelland’s nastiness, I mentioned my 5-year-old daughter in the context of knowing right from wrong. I wish I hadn’t now. For the first time, I feel nervous knowing that McLelland knows I have young children.

Only a sick loser uses his child as a prop in his political battles. Grow up Janke, you sick bastard.

Give your pathetic progeny (I sure hope that mofo got good genes from his mama!) a big fat tongue-filled kiss from me! LOTS AND LOTS OF SALIVA from Auntie MOONBAT, if you don’t mind!
Somehow, Jeffy boy, I think you get off on the possibility of Frenching your pathetic progeny, even if it is a boy. You seem like a VERY, VERY sick mofo to me, bro.

Tough break. It’s a hard way to learn that there’s a double standard when it comes to death threats. The right can go on national tv and make them (ie. Adams Apple Annie) but the left never can; not even in a moment of anger on some paste eater’s blog.
You shouldn’t have resigned though. The right whingers only foam at the mouth for a short time before becoming distracted by their next 5 minute hate.

  2. The green movement is a good thing

But the Green Party of Canada is up to its old tricks again:

  3. Get a grip on yourself Knight. What’s a matter? Your armour squeezing you in all the wrong places? I’m disappointed in you. But I’m blaming your reaction and Janke’s rabid and vile outburst on the full moon. It always makes those right-wingers act funny, foam at the mouth, and bark out even more baloney than usual. To equate Robert’s dart at the right-wing bitch goddess Malkin who deserves what she gets, with giving moral support to that professor’s twisted comments is absurd. To suggest that Robert could threaten your own kids is absolutely disgusting.Perhaps the most disgusting thing I’ve ever read on a Canadian blog. Janke should have the integrity to remove that banner on his blog that claims that he always acts “with a touch of class.” It’s not just meaningless now it’s practically fraudulent.
BTW Robert whatever you’re doing keep it up. Anyone who can get the right wingnuts to show Canadians how crazy they really are must be doing something right. heh ..heh…heh

  4. “giving moral support to that professor’s twisted comments is absurd.”
    I agree…

  5. Knight is your visor down again? I told you before you can’t read like that. You’re missing some words. I said it would be absurd to equate Robert’s shot at Malkin with supporting what that professor had to say. He was simply pointing out that most of the threats of violence, racist, anti-native, anti-gay, Bush-blowing bullshit emerges into the world through the orifice known as the Blogging Whories, and other right wingnut sites. Besides surely you agree that bringing your own children into that kind of personal attack is wrong — whatever side of the partisan divide you’re on. If you don’t at least agree with that then I’m afraid I’ll have no choice but to call on Ti-Guy. Where is the little fucker anyway? Fine time he picked to go AWOL…

Jesus, Janke’s a shameless bastard, isn’t he. Completely immoral. He’s not even original either; all the fascist rightwingers out there are using this stupid controversy to denounce liberals.

I wonder if Janke shares Jeff Goldstein’s and Special Ed’s fondness for pharmaceuticals?

Where is the little fucker anyway? Fine time he picked to go AWOL…

The lunatics were getting repetitive, so I got bored.

  8. supporting what that professor had to say.

  12. Wrong, Derrell. Janke is simply lying about what I said. Nowhere in my comment do I defend what Deborah said. That’s the fact. And by bringing his child into this he demonstrates what an odious skunk he really is.

  13. Ti-Guy said,

  16. Nomennovum said,

    McClelland,

You did say that she shouldn’t have resigned her job, though. That is a defense of her. That she threatened a two-year old in such a disgusting manner shows her to be sick and twisted. She should have been fired, but she quit (likely under pressure) before she could be.

It was you who defended a person not worth defending. Fritsch should have quit. She may be legally culpable. In defending her in the way that you did, you were tacitly defending her words. You implicitly say that what she said was not so bad an offense. But what she said was clearly awful. Only a Ti-Guy type of incurably disturbed individual would say such things (and he generally does). So, your saying she ought not to have quit her university teaching position is indefensible. It shows you value a person’s politics above anything else. Stop always trying to back away from your words. You wouldn’t have to, you know, if you could resist the temptation to shoot from the hip. It is not Janke who is the “odious skunk” here.

It is interesting to note that all of you here who are attacking those who support Janke’s position can do nothing more than spew mindless abuse. What a bunch of petty jerks.

  17. That she threatened a two-year old in such a disgusting manner shows her to be sick and twisted.

That is a lie. She didn’t threaten anyone.

She should have been fired, but she quit (likely under pressure) before she could be.

How have you diseased douchebags managed to convince yourselves that it’s right for people to be harassed in real life or fired from their jobs because of crap they spew on the internet?

  18. The Same Ti-Guy said,

Sounds like an endorement of her comments to me or at least a dissmissal of them. Even “Adams apple Annie” would never lower herself to this level.
Even you or Ti or Arthur would never stoop to that level of commentary on your worst day, it crosses the line and there’s no defending it for any reason. It even crosses the line of “crap you can spew on the internet”.

  20. Nomennovum said,

“That is a lie. She didn’t threaten anyone.”

No it’s not a lie. Robert, you suffer from excessive literalism and I think it’s intentional. It is at least compulsive. Frisch clearly implied doing harm to Goldstein’s child.

As usual, you are showing yourself willing to be deluded.

She should be fired, Robert, because she is clearly mentally disturbed. She is incapable of being a teacher, much less a teacher of psychology. This is not a case of political speech. Why do you insist of seeing everything through political blinders?

    The woman is sick.

  21. Ti-Guy said,

it crosses the line and there’s no defending it for any reason.

Don’t you tight-arses ever get tired of shrieking self-righteousness all the time?

Derrell, you’re missing the point. Janke has crossed a line by using his children as ammunition in a dreary blog spat that the idiot seems to thrive on (check out his commenters….all right-loonies gathered in one place).

  22. Nomennovum said,

The point Derell was addressing was Robert’s point that Frisch should not have quit her teaching job. Robert’s point is tantamount to excusing her vile behavior.

I know this goes over your head, Ti-Guy, since you and she are two peas in a pod. If you read her posts and yours, you will note disturbing similarities in style and substance.

Check that. You will NOT note it. Nor, I’m afraid, will Robert. That’s too bad for you. Everyone else who is a well-grounded and reasonably sane person will note it, however.

  23. Nomennovum said,

    Ti-Guy,

Where *exactly* did I “rant”? And of the purported “rants,” which ones *exactly* were “insane”?

Shall I point out *your* rants for you? Now those truly are insane.

  24. spek said,

Frisch went way over the line. She deserved to be fired even if she wasn’t. And I don’t care if it was only said on the internet.

Anyway, I agree with Robert’s original post on this thread. Steve Janke is a sick wanker for using his 5-year old daughter as a prop. He did it before, too, saying how she was “horrified” at pictures of the monument pisser. I mean, what the fuck… this is desperately low, standing behind a five-year old. Fight your own battles Janke, you coward.

  25. She should be fired, Robert, because she is clearly mentally disturbed.

So are you but you don’t see anyone trying to get you fired, do you?

  26. sooey said,

  27. Ti-Guy said,

Goldstein thrives on stuff like that. If he didn’t have that, he’d only have his exceptionally bad writing and mediocre intellect to showcase. One the most hilarious boners he ever pulled (pun intended) was doing a long, expository piece on some cultural issue and claimed Michelangelo painted the Mona Lisa.

    ….Haw haw haw!!!

Anyway, the sap’s on anti-anxiety medication (Klonopin).

  28. Nomennovum said,

“So are you but you don’t see anyone trying to get you fired, do you?”

What’s your evidence that I’m disturbed? Who would try to get me fired?

  29. Ti-Guy said,

It wasn’t an argument to be substantiated, Novena. It’s an assertion.

“I mentioned my 5-year-old daughter in the context of knowing right from wrong. I wish I hadn’t now. For the first time, I feel nervous knowing that McLelland knows I have young children.”

Right. Isn’t this the same Steve Janke that happly trotted his kids out informt of national TV cameras after Scott Ried’s “Beer and popcorn” gaffe to show them eating popcorn, in order to make a partisan political point.

Implying that Robert, whom Janke has never met, is somehow dangerous to children, based soley on the fact that he made a comment that Janke did not agree with is the lowest, most despicable form of insult.

Janke owes Robert an apology. And Robert should talk to an attorney - spreading those kinds of inuendo on the web can ceertainly damage one’s reputation.

  32. Ti-Guy said,

    Children.

  34. Ti-Guy said,

Yeah, you’ve said that already here at least a million times. You know what they say about people who repeat the same action and expect a different outcome…?

Look, why don’t you go back to your sad blog and indulge your monomania there. We’re all stocked up with crazy here.

  35. Ti-Guy said,

Anyway, this is an example of how the rightists talk about children all the time. John Derbyshire of the NRO:

Chelsea is a Clinton. She bears the taint; and though not prosecutable in law, in custom and nature the taint cannot be ignored. All the great despotisms of the past — I’m not arguing for despotism as a principle, but they sure knew how to deal with potential trouble — recognized that the families of objectionable citizens were a continuing threat. In Stalin’s penal code it was a crime to be the wife or child of an “enemy of the people”. The Nazis used the same principle, which they called Sippenhaft, “clan liability”. In Imperial China, enemies of the state were punished “to the ninth degree”: that is, everyone in the offender’s own generation would be killed, and everyone related via four generations up, to the great-great-grandparents, and four generations down, to the great-great-grandchildren, would also be killed. (This sounds complicated, but in practice what usually happened was that a battalion of soldiers was sent to the offender’s home town, where they killed everyone they could find, on the principle neca eos omnes, deus suos agnoscet — “let God sort ‘em out”.)

And these people aren’t semi-anomymous nobodies with poor impulse control, either. They feature prominently in the public discourse.

I heartily recommend Mark Crispin Miller’s Cruel and Unusual : Bush/Cheney’s New World Order for good look into the black souls of the rightists. Curl yer hair, it will.

  36. Derrell said,

Don’t you tight-arses ever get tired of shrieking self-righteousness all the time?

No we don’t, as oppossed to you loose-arses who refuse to call a spade a spade if it’s not some right wing nutjob.

I’m not refering to AGNW or his minions or his use of his children in arguement’s or as props(and yes I know that’s the point of this post) but I would expect you “decent, caring, progressive human beings” to at least go on the record as condeming the comments of this Deb as a pre-requisite to bitching about Janke and his action’s.

  37. People who do cause Steve Janke to fear for his children’s safety;
–some guy on the internet who doesn’t cyberspit on the people he hates and never knew he had children until he brought them up in order to use them as a weapon.

    People who don’t cause Steve Janke to fear for his children’s safety;
any indicted felon he hangs out with.

  38. Ti-Guy said,

No we don’t, as oppossed to you loose-arses who refuse to call a spade a spade if it’s not some right wing nutjob.

I worry about real problems, and don’t expend a lot of energy on faux-outrage. You, of course, make a big production out of something that’s completely inconsequential and then go play golf.

    *clap clap….clap*

  39. Nomennovum said,

    Chelsea Clinton is a “child”!

Get a grip, Ti-Guy. This is one huge stretch by you. Do you mean to say that because Chelsea once was a child she will forever be a child? When Derbyshire wrote this tongue-in-cheek peice, you humorless twit, she was all grown-up and living on her own (more or less) in Manhattan. Derbyshire says that his hate for her is irrational and stems from her being a Clinton, but you spin his words to make it sound as though he were some sort of Nazi-hater of little children. Grow up. Derbyshire happens to be wrong. He doesn’t know her* … but that’s not his point. This was an anti-Clinton screed … and one in a Swiftian mode. I am sure you feel outrage as great aginst Jonathan Swift for his call to eat poor children.

Did I say this before? Grow up.

    _______

*My wife does know her and says she is perfectly nice. Then again, my wife’s firm is a big client of Chelsea’s company. So, there is some room for error here.

  40. Derrell said,

That’s a bad case of the clap there Ti-guy, if it’s visable even through the internets you should see as doctor. :)

Seem’s you have plenty of faux-outrage over Janke’s action’s but none for the real peice of garbage, nice priorties there.

BTW, I haven’t played golf for over a month. :(

  41. Ti-Guy said,

Seem’s you have plenty of faux-outrage over Janke’s action’s but none for the real peice of garbage, nice priorties there.

I’m not circus animal you can order to shriek over something just because you rightists demand it. In fact, you’re all so damned depraved that I sometimes wonder, in your faux-outrage, you not secretely indulging a brutal fantasy of some sort…

Well, maybe not you, Derrell, but certainly others I can think of. And I can’t stand Janke. Like his Doppelgänger with tits, Kate McMillan, they’re both dishonest and stupid.

  42. Nomennovum said,

You certain got Janke there, Robert, finding a picture of him with a man who was later convicted of a crime. Excellent work. It doesn’t mean Janke endorses what Black did to get him convicted, unfortunately. Now, if Janke does endorse Black’s crimes, then you can accuse him of hypocrisy … that is, for doing precisely what you did with Frisch by telling her she shouldn’t have quit her job teaching psychology because of the foul things that she had done.

  43. Nomennovum said,

“Like his Doppelgänger with tits.” — Ti-Guy

What would a good feminist say (like Paladiea or MWW) about your crass misogyny? Probably nothing.

Not that that would make them hypocrites. (Would it?)

  44. spek said,

Speaking of Chelsea Clinton, Atrios has a post up today of John McCain’s despicable joke at her expense:

“Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly?

Because her father is Janet Reno.”

Apparently, this went widely unreported for some reason. Maybe because the much vaunted free American media is a disgraceful sham and is largely a GOP organ for republican hate propaganda and outright lies. And as far as Chelsea bearing the “taint,” well, that’s just incredibly disgusting. Its not a death threat per se, (neither were Frisch’s remarks if you want to mince words), but the implication is still there that it would be okay by someone else’s standards (and probably John “I hate Chelsea Clinton” Derbyshires’s own standards as well). What a snake.

  45. Nomennovum said,

“Apparently, this went widely unreported for some reason. Maybe because the much vaunted free American media is a disgraceful sham and is largely a GOP organ for republican hate propaganda and outright lies.” — thus spoke spek.

You don’t know what you are talking about. It was reported all over.

But don’t believe me; it’s much easier to believe that the NY Times, the LA times, et al. are all “organs for the Republican’s propaganda.” Yes, so much easier to believe that. Never mind the divulging of the Bush administration’s state secrets, etc.

Yeesh, you cant-spewing leftists really sound like the Soviets of old … only much, much more paranoid.

  46. Ti-Guy said,

No kidding, Spek. I get creeped out every time I read that.

What would a good feminist say (like Paladiea or MWW) about your crass misogyny? Probably nothing.

Why should they say anything? They know from what I’ve said here that I’m not a misogynist. Women can detect real misogyny a mile a way, and it doesn’t come from using the word “tits” (which everyone uses where I’m from - I’m not from Beaver-Cleaver-Hypocrite-Land known as Middle America)

You probably are a real misogynist. You make a habit of devaluing and dehumanising people all the time.

If you were so concerned about “real problems,” you’d be in psychiatric care by now. You’ve posted no less than 13 times on this thread, you have an unhealthy obsession with posting your disturbed thoughts online.

  55. spek said,

You don’t know what you are talking about. It was reported all over.

    From the link above:

The fact that McCain had made the tasteless joke was reported in major newspapers, as was the vain attempt by his press secretary to initially deny what McCain had done. But in several major newspapers, the joke itself was kept a secret. When McCain subsequently apologized to President Clinton, the Washington Post, in its personality section, noted the apology but said the joke “was too vicious to print.”

The Los Angeles Times, in its Life & Style section, provided an oblique rendering of the joke that did not fully convey its ugliness. When Maureen Dowd penned a column in the New York Times about the joke, she wrote that McCain “is so revered by the press that his disgusting jape was largely nudged under the rug.” But Dowd chose not to relay the joke, either.

The joke did appear in McCain’s hometown paper, the Arizona Republic, and the Associated Press did report the joke in full, so everyone in the press had access to McCain’s words. But by censoring themselves, the Post, the Times and others helped McCain deflect flak and preserved his status as a Republican presidential contender.

The point being that McCain and his presidential ambitions were protected by the American media. Similarly, Bush was protected in 2000 by non-reporting of his swindle involving Harkin Energy.

They are going to pull out all the stops to get McCain elected in the next round. And I will never forgive them for giving Bush a free ride on the Harken Energy scandal, and so many other scandals. They created Wanker Bush from shit, first in Texas, and then, in the whole country. The American media, quite objectively, stinks. They withheld information important to the function of democracy. I’d say the same thing if Layton, for instance, did any of this stuff, you know. “Anyway, I agree with Robert’s original post on this thread. Steve Janke is a sick wanker for using his 5-year old daughter as a prop. He did it before, too, saying how she was “horrified” at pictures of the monument pisser.”

Does anybody else but me think it’s a little weird to have shown their five year old daughter the picture of the urinator to begin with?

I certainly didn’t go running to grab my son and say “Look at this picture of a guy taking a piss on a war memorial”.

I told my son about it - because we often discuss the news. But I didn’t give him any visuals, just like I don’t let him watch movies that are innappropriate for his age that include scenes of violence, coarse language or nudity.

My son’s comment was “That’s pretty sick. What a freak. I hope that they find out who he is and he has to apologize”

Seriously — why does one’s kid need to be subjected to such a thing?

  74. spek said,

Its a lot weird. Anyway, I doubt that showing the pictures, in itself, would have much effect, even on a five-year old. But, add the showing of pictures to the excessive overly-dramatic moralising that probably accompanied the incident, and I suspect you’ll have one traumatized-for-life young girl. Could a five-year old understand anything other than “peeing is wrong?” I doubt it.

  75. MWW said,

Janke has just asked me to clarify that apparently he did not actually grab his daughter and show her the picture on purpose. That in fact, she happened to see it, over his shoulder as it was on his desk-top.

    So I have done so.

This is despite the fact that Steve Janke let various LIES about me stand on his Goddamn blog for months, that have still been uncorrected. Like the lie that Kate McMillan made in claiming I had “threatened” the anonymous Raskolnikov’s job - because I asked the question - (in response to his own post on the matter) “When are you going to come out of hiding behind McMillan’s skirts Rask, or are you still afraid of losing your job in the Indian Act Industry job that you work for, and yet decry so much?)

Janke claimed that Kate’s comment was a legitimate use of the word “threat”.

He also wasn’t interested in reading about how KATE had essentially “threatened” (by his own definition of the term) myself and my family by attempting to insinuate that I had engaged in inappropriate behavior with my 11 year old son — because I mentioned on new years eve, per our family tradition, we were all going to stay up, cuddle up in bed, watch movies and eat popcorn.

Talk about trying to use OTHER people’s children as WEAPONS eh?

    http://smalldeadanimals.blogspot.com/2004/12/kate-makes-unfounded-accusation.html

So there Mr.Janke… I’ve clarified my remarks, regarding the Urinator picture and your daughter.

Somebody needs to be a net.grown-up.

And it obviously will never be *you*

Are you kidding? Richard adores me. After many months of intensive therapy right here, I was the one who helped him kick his nasty Jack Daniels and barbecued roadkill habit.

He’s been mildly sane since, I believe, and only eats clay now.

Richard walks around Calgary (in real life) with a model of Monica Lewinski blowing Bill Clinton (I still have the images). Nothing he can say about me compares to that.

The blogger Misha of the blog Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler is one of the most linked-to and popular bloggers in the right-wing blogosphere. He’s the 42nd most linked-to blogger on the Internet, and he is in the blogroll of scores of right-wing bloggers, such as Michelle Malkin and Captian’s Quarters Blog. He wrote a post today discussing the Supreme Court’s decision in Hamdan and here is what he said:

Of course, this is the same Supreme Court that earlier decided in Kelo that private property rights only matter as long as a private company doesn’t offer a better deal, above or below the table, to local authorities, so one shouldn’t really be surprised. The unelected, black-robed tyrants have a long history of not giving a fig about the Constitution if they don’t like what it says, not to mention a long tradition of usurping the powers of the legislative and executive branch by ruling by judicial fiat. . . .

Try doing anything to those mutilating darlings of the Supremes in order to extract life-saving intel from them, and then wait for the Supreme Whores to decide that you were “humiliating” them in doing so.

Even if its not just in either case.

Also, there’s some question of whether some the Frisch posts quoted were real in the first place. In other words, some of her posts may have been altered or spoofed. How could I have ever believed anything coming from the right-wing nuttersphere?

You know, I think this is defamation on Janke’s part (since Robert uses his real identity). If he had any sense, he’s remove that post. It’s bizarre and it’s completely useless except as libel.

  121. What’s wrong with that guy?

Like all right whingers he’s hypersensitive. This post by Janke, a previous one and a subsequent one are all in response to this two line post of mine. As you can see, Janke has reacted hysterically to it. But you’ve seen the same type of behaviour with this Nav character when you casually mentioned him in a post of yours and he went ballistic in at least two posts that I saw accusing you of attacking him. It’s just a product of their immature nature. They simply can’t shrug anything off and always over-react. Which is probably why it’s so much fun to poke them with a stick just to set them off.

Yes indeedy… The Smear Patrol is up by a factor of about 50% since this stuff started coming out in a big way over at attempts to comment on my blog.

And Kate is already been reduced to patroling around left-wing blogs where here name is mentioned trying to get prog-bloggers to denounce me for being mean to Dust my Brooms.

You are right Ti-Guy — I think they’ve been abandoned by Sandra Buckler because the CPC Leadership can’t really come up with a cohereant strategy on how to “handle” this issue, and left to their own devices they are, just as you say going bonkers with trying to smear, attack, deflect etc…

too bad, like Peter says, very few people who are reporting on these stories pay attention to blogs and the right-wing noise wurlitzer BT Attack machine permanently lost credibility after Eugene’s little run in with Ferret face.

    :)

  132. Ti-Guy said,

Reporters do pay attention to blogs, although the better ones resist getting fooled into thinking an unsupported statement of beliefs is a “fact.” (unlike rightwingers, who are incapable of making the distinction.)

The rightwingers had better be careful; they’re skating dangerously close to criminal harrassment.

  133. MWW said,

Just a thought Robert, I’d go after the Canadian Taxpayers Federation before Janke, who has self-admittedly got very little income and hopes to translate his blogging into a career in paid-journalism. However the comment on the Canadian Taxpayers Fed website is libelous, and they DO have money that could be seized if there was a judgement.

Also - the insinuation that you are a danger to children, that is now being used - as was used against me by Kate, regarding my own child, when I mentioned that on New Years Eve we as a family were going to stay up, cuddle up in bed together, watch movies and eat popcorn - does meet the definition of CRIMINAL DEFAMATORY LIBEL, under the Criminal Code.

It’s not used very often - but if you make a complaint - at least it’s on record that such a complaint has been made - and so no issue about estoppel can be used later that you were sitting idle while this criminal defamatory libel was being spread about you.

It will help with your court case to document the steps you have taken to stop the libel from being spread further, and thus further damage your reputation.

In my case, I was fortunate, in that in Libel suits you have to prove that somebody wanted to cause you harm by spreading something they knew, or reasonably should know was not true about you. I have a lovely capture of Kate on the Shotgun admitting that the whole reason she was engaged in her little jihad against me, was to cause me financial harm.

Ask Janke directly if that’s what his motivation was in remarking upon this.
