There is some confusion in this article about the reason the Harper Conservatives are dragging their feet on the issue of the “lost Canadians”. But the reason is clearly revealed by what this con says.
Ed Komarnicki, parliamentary secretary to Minister of Citizenship and Immigration Diane Finley, says the government has committed to looking into the creation of a new citizenship act this fall.
Given the modus disgusterandi of this Conservative government it’s quite obvious this new citizenship act will include something that will shift our policy to the far right. This will undoubtedly be opposed by the opposition prompting PMS and his band of thugs to begin wailing that the opposition is blocking his effort to help these “lost Canadians”.
The delay is for no other reason than to allow these people to be used as political pawns by PMS.

They even offered to set up supposedly “independent” media events in Washington that would promote Turkmenistan (the agenda and speakers would actually be determined by the lobbyists).
Not surprisingly the stenographers in the media are upset with their colleague for showing them up.

Then I observe that “Indians are taking a rare break from gas huffing” to undertake said extortion attempt (armed with guns by the way — I stupidly forgot to mention that).

Today we were treated to the leaked draft on the constitutional changes planned by Chavez. It is a blue print on how to create an authoritarian state by creating a social system from where no opposition could ever have the possibility to rise someday to challenge Chavez.
