WISHES DO COME TRUE

Me the other day.

As far as who Bush puts on the SC, my hope is that it’s the craziest fucker American conservatism has to offer. And I hope that this wacko sets about destroying America. That would give Canadians one more reason to never vote Conservative in this country ever again.

The craziest fucker American conservatism has to offer.

Scalito’s extreme right wing record …ALITO WOULD OVERTURN ROE V. WADE…ALITO WOULD ALLOW RACE-BASED DISCRIMINATION…ALITO WOULD ALLOW DISABILITY-BASED DISCRIMINATION

Lets hope the right whingers can ram this nomination through the system so that the new Supreme Court of Bush can get to work destroying America before our election next spring.

RIGHT WHINGERS: DUMB AS STUMPS

Vacuous right whinger #1.

Oliver Stone is making a movie about 9-11. He’s like Michael Moore, only he’s done way more hallucinogenic drugs (unless you count Twinkies as a hallucinogenic drug). He’s like Michael Moore, only instead of being a wily cynic, he’s a paranoid refugee from the 1960s.

Vacuous right whinger # 2.

Publius at God’s of the Copy Book Headings has a hard-hitting must read. It’s about the recently released film about Canada’s National Healthcare Failure.

The right whingers rant and rail about the propaganda films of people like Michael Moore then turn around and swallow, hook, line and sinker, the propaganda films pushed out by the American right. There’s no way that people who are this fucking stupid should be allowed to even visit Ottawa let alone govern from it.

BREAKING: THE GOMERY REPORT

I’ve just just received an advance copy of the Gomery report that is due to be released on November 1st. Gomery’s conclusions: My Blahg is the mastermind behind the entire sponsorship scandal.

More details to follow about this sordid affair that is certain to be seized upon by opposition critics of My Blahg.

BLOGOWEEN

Blogging Party Of Canada is holding a pumpkin carving contest with prizes for the winner.

First prize - one date with me
Second prize - two dates with me

He even has tips for carving your pumpkin.

1. Cordless Drill and Bits……Due to my work, I have about five cordless drill and I find that they work pretty good for carving to depths once you get the hang of it. Oh sure, I could have used my Drummel, but it’s smaller, not nearly man enough…

Pfft! Real men use chainsaws to carve their pumpkins.

Anyway, get carving.

ABOUT THOSE EXPENSE ACCOUNTS

Apparently shafting the taxpayer isn’t just a Liberal sport.

“Why then did Mr. Doyle rack up $172, 904 in travel expenses?

And why did Loyola Hearn cost taxpayers $164, 159 for travel?”

These two Conservative members of parliament live in ridings that are easily accessible by air and car and yet their travel claims look like they were heading from Ottawa to Alert and back again. Every weekend.

Indeed. It looks like we need an opposition party to watch over the opposition party in this country.

IRANIAN SABRE RATTLING TERRIFIES THE RIGHT

How pathetic is it when a little sabre rattling by Iran causes the right whingers to shit themselves? Seriously, how can right whingers claim to be strong on national security when a man with no military might can cause their bowels to liquify so easily? How can they make this astounding claim when they’ve done nothing but jump at shadows for the past 4 years? It boggles the mind that anyone would think these gutless cowards are capable of defending their nation.

But what’s even worse is that it’s caused world leaders to shit themselves too.

Tony Blair gave warning last night that the West might have to take military action against Iran after worldwide condemnation of its President’s call for Israel to be “wiped off the map”.

Tony, Tony, Tony. You’ve already gone to war with one Middle Eastern nation for bogus reasons, do you really think it wise to go to war with another one over a little sabre rattling? Now buck up, sissy Mary. The big bad Iranians aren’t going to get either you or Israel.

On a related note, I must say the Iranians sure do know how to put on a first rate sabre rattling demonstration.

Iran’s ultraconservative new president spurned international outrage today, joining more than a million demonstrators who flooded the streets of the capital and other major cities to back his call for the destruction of Israel.

Could you even conceive of a million 101st Keyboarders and Chickenhawks getting off their doughy pantload asses to demonstrate in support of Chimperor Bush’s sabre rattling? Me neither.

GIVE TAX CUTS TO THE RICH

That’s what Rick Fuschi, Conservative candidate for Windsor-Tecumseh says a Conservative government would do.

Suppose these rates were reduced by only 1%. The total saving on $100,000 of income would be $920 plus the $1,120 for a total of $2,040. Even at these conservative reductions, this is a substantial percentage of your total current income tax load of some $30,000.

It’s awfully nice of Rick to be concerned about the 3% (pdf) of Canadian taxpayers who make $100,000 or more but what about the 97% who don’t?

Rick then goes on to tell us again how a conservative government is only going to help out the wealthy.

One last significant iniative is to remove the imbalance between single and double earner families. To illustrate: A two income family in which both spouses earn $50,000 for a total family income of $100,000, will pay $19,978.
A single earner family with $100,000 in income will pay $27,284.

That’s just dandy, but here’s the thing. Close to 90% of Canadians earn less than $60,000 and 60% of Canadians earn less than $30,000 so it would be fair to say that very few Canadians earn more than $50,000 let alone have a family where both earners make that amount of money. So once again Rick has shown us that a Conservative government will only enact a ponzi tax cut scheme for the rich.

Meanwhile, back to my earlier question; what would most Canadians get out of these tax cuts for the rich? Why they’d either get a reduction in services they rely on or their children would inherit an even larger debt than we have if the Conservatives became borrow and spend Republicans. Either way, the only thing an overwhelming majority of Canadians would get from a Conservative government is the shaft.

WHY ISN’T THERE A FRENCH LANGUAGE CATEGORY?

This question was asked last year and it’s been asked again this year. The answer is because there’s no reason that French language blogs can’t compete head to head with English language blogs. Quebec has roughly 1/3rd of Canada’s population and I’ve seen that there is a thriving community of French language bloggers, so there’s more than enough support for them to compete in the regular categories.

PERP WALK II

Hahahahahaha!

I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby, Vice President Dick Cheney’s chief of staff, resigned on Friday after a federal grand jury indicted him on charges related to the CIA leak investigation.

Libby was indicted on one count of obstruction of justice, two counts of perjury and two counts of making false statements, court documents show.

That’s two of the scumbags down.

SCREWED BY BIG OIL

Exxon Mobil sets profit record

Exxon Mobil Corp. rewrote the corporate record books today as the oil company’s third-quarter earnings soared to almost $10 billion US and it became the first public company ever with quarterly sales topping $100 billion.

Royal Dutch Shell profit up 68%

Royal Dutch Shell PLC, one of the world’s largest oil companies, said today its third-quarter profit grew 68 per cent to $9.03 billion US, as soaring oil prices outweighed lost production and damage to rigs from hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico.

Petro-Canada’s Q3 profit up by half

Adjusted for one-time items, Petro-Canada earnings were up 38 per cent to $659 million or $1.27 per share, a penny per share above the consensus estimate of analysts surveyed by Thomson Financial.

Pricks. I say regulate them. And to hell with Alberta if they don’t like it.

CONSERVATIVES AND BIAS

Well here’s the smoking gun that proves conservatives aren’t concerned that there’s too much liberal bias in the media, the courts, the schools, etc. but are only concerned that there isn’t enough conservative bias in them.

U.S. President George W. Bush has accepted Harriet Miers’ decision to withdraw her name from consideration for the U.S. Supreme Court. This is good news, and it means that a conservative candidate with proper credentials will be put forward.

Clearly these rubes are comfortable with bias as long as it’s stacked in their favour. So remember that the next time one of these shameless liars begins caterwauling about liberal bias in whatever institution they don’t think is crammed full enough with conservatives. They are not looking for any sort of equitable arrangement.

A LESSON FOR CANADIAN CONSERVATIVES

This is your future. This is the road you’re travelling. Pretty soon you’ll be nothing more than a collection of paranoid rants. You’ll even begin to see ominous messages in your bowl of Alpha-Bits.

It’s not too late to rejoin reality and save yourselves from the same fate that has befallen your paranoid schizophrenic brethren in the US. We can help you but only if you want to get well.

PALLISTER SHOULD RESIGN

Independent auditors have cleared David Dingwall of the malicious accusations levelled at him by Conservative MP Brian Pallister.

An independent audit has backed the claims of David Dingwall, who said there was nothing improper in his office spending during his tenure as the president and CEO of the Royal Canadian Mint.

Pallister should do the honourable thing and resign for falsely accusing Dingwall of wrongdoing. I won’t be holding my breath waiting for that one to happen though. Conservatives never think they should be held accountable for their lies.

REALITY IN IRAQ

Lets make one thing clear. Bush has not brought freedom and democracy to Iraq. He’s brought violence and bloodshed to Iraq that has now claimed 2,000 American soldier’s lives, 200 coalition soldier’s lives, 30,000 Iraqi civilian’s lives and an unknown number of civilian contractor’s, civilian aid worker’s and Iraqi soldier’s lives. He’s brought civil war to Iraq that threatens to make the death toll to date pale by comparison. He’s brought renewed Islamic rule to a nation that had previously enjoyed secular rule. He’s brought chaos and carnage of a magnitude that will rival, or most likely surpass, Saddam’s over the next thirty years.

Bush has done the people of Iraq no favours. He has not changed the lives of Iraqis for the better. He’s only put a new face on their suffering. And for his part in their tragic tale, Bush should face justice just as their previous tormenter is going to.

Update: Judging by the comments, it looks like the right whingers are fully prepared to defend this quagmire to the death…of every Iraqi that is.
